UKGC Licensed Casinos UK 2026 ᐈ Verified Safe Sites
I looked at all the UKGC licensed casinos in the UK for 2026. I made sure they are safe to use. I checked every UKGC licensed casino on this page to see if they are listed on the Public Register. I did this on 14 March 2026. Every single one complies with the rule that you have to wager your money ten times since 19 January. When I was checking I found a couple of casinos that had expired licence numbers. Those casinos did not make it onto this page. If a UKGC licensed casino does not have a licence from the UK gambling commission that's still valid you should keep your money right where it is.

🛡 All licence numbers on this page have been manually checked against the UKGC Public Register. Last verified: March 2026. 18+ only.
Type the name of the UK casino or its licence number into the search box
Check that the result shows the status as "Active". It should not say "Revoked" "Suspended" or "Lapsed"
Make sure the legal entity name matches what is written in the UK casinos footer
If you do not find it then you are done. You get to keep your money in your pocket. This is a tip that I have used to avoid three UK casinos that looked dodgy over the past eighteen months.
Things to Watch Out For When Checking a UK Casino
The UK casino does not show its UKGC licence number in the footer
The licence number of the UK casino does not match the one on the UKGC register
The UK casino has wagering requirements that're above 10x. This is against the law in the UK since January 2026
The UK casino does not mention that it is registered with GamStop
The UK casino does not have responsible gambling tools like deposit limits and self-exclusion
The UK casino does not have a UK address or contact details, for the people who run it
What Changed With the January 2026 Wagering Cap?
19 January 2026. Mark that day down. That is when the UKGC hit the nail on the head for bonus wagering. Hard cap: 10x max. Done.
Before that? Wild west. I found casinos in 2024 requiring 50x wagering on a hundred-pound bonus. That is five grand in wagers before you can withdraw one penny of your winnings. Slightly on the exploitative side, if I am honest — and I am.
Now? Hundred-pound bonus, maximum wager a thousand, withdraw. Simple. LeoVegas already sat at 1x long before the cap mattered. Mr Green and bet365 sat at zero. Those casinos did not even need the regulator to impose fairness. Others needed it.
And another thing — cross-product bundling has been outlawed as well. A casino can now no longer attach a casino playthrough requirement to a sports free bet. Each product has its own bonus. Dirty little trick. Glad it is gone.
UKGC Casinos FAQ
How do I check if a UK casino is UKGC licensed?
Go to gamblingcommission.gov.uk, click Public Register, type in the casino name or licence number. If it says "Active" — you're good. If it says "Revoked" or doesn't appear at all — walk away. I do this before every single deposit. Takes ninety seconds and has saved me from a couple of questionable sites.
What protection do I get with a UKGC licensed casino?
A lot, actually. Segregated accounts — so your balance is protected even if the casino goes bust. GamStop enforcement. The 10x wagering cap. Complaints handled through approved ADR providers like IBAS or eCOGRA. Regular audits. And if something goes seriously wrong, the UKGC can fine or shut down the operator. None of those protections exist at offshore sites. Zero.
Is it illegal to play at a non-UKGC casino?
Not illegal for you as a player — no. You won't get arrested for opening an account at a Curaçao-licensed site. But you get zero protection under UK law. Casino withholds your winnings? Tough. Account frozen for no reason? Nothing you can do. Dispute resolution? Doesn't exist. The risk is completely yours. I would not recommend it.
What is a UK casino licence number?
Five-digit number assigned by the UKGC to each licensed operator. Look in the casino's footer — it should be down there next to the company name. LeoVegas is 39198. bet365 is 55148. If you can't find a number, or the number doesn't match when you check the register — that is a red flag. Close the tab.

Licences get revoked. Operators get bought out. Numbers change. I don't check these annually — I check them every time I update a page. Last round was 14 March 2026. Next one is already in my calendar. The register at gamblingcommission.gov.uk is the only source I trust, and it should be the only source you trust too.
