Seasoned Casino Reviewer
Who Is Lisa Schamberger?
I have been putting my money into UK casino sites for eight years now. I do this to see how long it takes to get my money to talk to the people who work there and to read all the rules that come with the bonuses. I do this because I get really frustrated when I read reviews from people who do not seem to have played at the casinos they are writing about or when the people writing the reviews own the casinos they are talking about.
Since I started doing this I have tried out more than eighty UK casinos with my own real money. I do not just take screenshots. I do not play the free version. I put in money and sometimes I get real money back. I have had times when I got my money back fast like at bet365 where it took only five minutes and times when it took a really long time like fifty-three hours at a site that I ended up not liking at all. The little things matter to me so I write about them.
I only look at casinos in the UK. I keep an eye on the rules that the UK Gambling Commission makes, like the new rule about how much people can bet that started in January 2026 and the new rules about advertising. I also keep track of when casinos get in trouble like when Betway had to pay a fine of £400,000 in 2023 because they did not follow the rules about advertising. When the rules about bonuses changed, like when they put a limit on how much you can get from a bonus I went back. Checked all the casinos on my list to see how they were doing.
As for me I used to work with money and contracts which means I am good at reading the small print. It turns out that the rules for casino bonuses are, like contracts but not written as well. So I read them the same way looking for what they are trying to hide. I go through them paragraph by paragraph to make sure I understand everything.
How I Review UK Casinos. The Testing Methodology
I do the test every time for UK casinos. I do not talk to the people who run the casino. I do not use demo accounts. I do not copy information from press releases. Here is what I do before I add a casino to this site:
Step 1. Verify the UKGC Licence
First I check the UKGC Public Register to make sure the licence number on the casinos website is real and up to date. If the licence is not valid or is missing I stop the review there.
Step 2. Check GamStop Registration
All UK casinos that have a UKGC licence must be part of the GamStop self-exclusion scheme. I check this on my own. If a casino says it has a UKGC licence but is not on GamStop it is either wrong or lying. Either way it does not get on this site.
Step 3. Make a Deposit
I put at least £20 into the casino using my own UK debit card or e-wallet. I note how I can deposit money if there are any fees and how long it takes for the money to show up. Some casinos check deposits to make sure they are real. I write that down too.
Step 4. Play for at Least Two Hours
I play many different types of games: at least one slot game, one live dealer game like blackjack or roulette and one table game. I am checking how fast the games load, how well they work on my phone what games are available and how good the game providers are. I am not just taking pictures of the games.
Step 5. Request a Withdrawal
This is the step that most review sites skip. I ask to take out my money and time how long it takes from when I ask to when I get the money. I note if the casino makes me wait if I have to prove who I am and if the casino tries to stop me from taking out my money. I write down how long it really takes to get my money not what the casino says it will take.
Step 6. Test Customer Support
I talk to the customer support team using chat and ask a real question about the bonus or taking out my money. I see how long it takes for them to answer if they answer correctly and if they are professional. If I have to wait 20 minutes for someone to talk to me that is a sign. If the person I talk to does not know the rules of their bonus that is even worse.
Step 7. Read Every Line of the Bonus Terms
I read all the rules for the welcome bonus, free spins and other offers. Since January 2026 the UKGC says that casinos cannot make people bet more than 10 times their bonus. If a casino says you have to bet more than that it is not following the rules. I also check for time limits rules about how much I can bet what games I can play. If there are limits on how much I can win with bonus money.
Step 8. Score and Publish
I give each casino a score based on ten things I write down what I found out honestly and I publish it. If a casino is good at some things and bad at others I say so. I do not make a casino look better than it is, by giving it a score higher than it deserves.
About onlinecasinorealmoney.uk.com
My goal is simple. I want to give players in the UK a resource. I'm not trying to list every casino there. There are thousands and most are not worth your time. I provide a shortlist of casinos that I've tested and updated regularly. These are the ones that're worth your time and money given the current rules and regulations in the UK.
The rules for UK gambling change often. The UKGC introduces rules like the January 2026 wagering cap. Casinos get fined bonuses change overnight new casinos appear. Old ones disappear. I update my reviews and listings when something changes, not on a schedule. If a casino I recommended gets fined or loses its licence I update the site right away.
This site covers:
- Casino reviews. I write reviews of individual casinos
- Category guides. UKGC licensed casinos GamStop casinos, casino bonuses, live casino, online slots
- Responsible gambling resources. Self-exclusion tools, help organisations, blocking software
- Regulatory updates. Changes to UKGC rules that affect UK players
I write every page on this site myself. I don't use AI-generated content. I don't outsource writing to people who haven't played at a UK casino. If my name is, on it I wrote it. I stand behind it.
Affiliate Disclosure
I use affiliate links on every casino page. When you click on one and sign up I might get a commission from the casino. This does not cost you anything. You get the bonus and terms whether you came through my link or typed the websites address directly.
The commission I earn does not influence my review. I do not accept payment to write reviews. I do not get paid more to promote one casino over another. The order of the rankings comes from my testing scores. That is all.
Casinos that do not score well do not appear on this site even if they offer to pay me more. Casinos that score well are listed, even if they do not have an affiliate program. For example there is one casino on my shortlist that I cannot earn money from. It is still listed because it offers a good product. If a listed casino gets into trouble and loses its license I remove it that same week, no matter what our commercial agreement is.
That is how this site makes money. I want to be honest about it rather than pretending that I do this for free. The testing is real. The opinions are mine. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
Our Casino Review Criteria: What We Look For
When we review a casino we look at the things that matter most to people who play games at casinos in the United Kingdom. These things are really important to players.
1. UKGC Licence and Compliance
First we check if the casino has a licence from the UKGC. We want to see the licence number and make sure it is easy to find. If the casino has had any problems with the regulators that is an issue. If there is a problem with the licence the casino does not pass our review.
2. GamStop Registration
All casinos with a UKGC licence must be registered with GamStop. We check this to make sure. If a casino is not registered with GamStop it is not a place for players who use GamStop to control their playing.
3. Fair Bonuses and Wagering
Since January 2026 all casinos in the United Kingdom must have a maximum wagering requirement of 10 times the bonus amount. We check every bonus offer to make sure there are no conditions like time limits bet limits and game exclusions. We want to make sure the bonuses are fair.
4. How Fast Withdrawals Are
We test how fast the casino can give us our money by making a withdrawal request. We see how long it takes to get the money and if there are any problems with verifying our identity or pending periods. We want to make sure the casino can give us our money quickly.
5. Game Selection
It is not just about how many games the casino has, but also how good the games are. We check who makes the games and if there are different types of games like slots, live dealer games and table games. We want to make sure the games are fun.
6. Mobile Experience
We test the casino on a phone to see how fast the site loads if the controls work well and if the live casino works when we are connected to the internet. We want to make sure the casino is easy to use on a phone.
7. Customer Support
We test the customer support by starting a chat with them. We see how long it takes to get a response if the answer is correct and if the support agent can help us with issues. We want to make sure the support is good.
8. Responsible Gambling Tools
The UKGC says that casinos must offer tools like deposit limits and self-exclusion. We check that these tools are easy to find and work properly. We want to make sure the casino cares about its players.
9. Payment Methods
We look at what payment optionsre available like debit cards, PayPal and bank transfers. We note if there are any fees and limits on deposits and withdrawals. We want to make sure the payment options are convenient.
10. Overall Value
This is the score, based on all the things we checked above. A casino can score well on games and bonuses. If it fails on licence, support or withdrawals it will score lower. Every single thing counts when we review a casino. The casino must do well in all areas to get a good score.
